WINDSOR – Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP are standing up for Ontario’s workers in the face of Trump’s reckless and existential tariff threats.
Stiles, MPP Lisa Gretzky (Windsor West), MP Brian Masse, and Windsor–Tecumseh Ontario NDP candidate Gemma Grey-Hall joined Unifor auto workers to call on the province to make sure that not a single job is lost due to these threats.
“We need leadership that puts the needs of working people and their families first for a change,” said Stiles. “Right now, that means fighting like hell to protect every single job that is at risk because of Trump’s reckless threats to Ontario’s economy.
“Working families in border communities, including auto workers in Windsor, farmers and agriculture workers in Essex County, and people all around the province are counting on us to fight for their jobs and livelihoods. This is why I am calling on the Premier to focus his energy on fighting tariffs, rather than fighting an early election. It’s time to put our province ahead of political interests.
“Ontario’s New Democrats are ready to work with the government to fight these tariffs and protect jobs in auto, agriculture, forestry, and any other sector that is at risk."
“When Canadian jobs and our livelihoods are at risk, we need to work together to fight back. We are strong, united, and ready - New Democrats won’t let you down.”
