Stiles returns to Windsor, vows to fight for jobs

WINDSOR – Marit Stiles, Ontario NDP leader, made a campaign stop in Windsor joined by Team Windsor candidates Lisa Gretzky (Windsor West), Gemma Grey-Hall (Windsor – Tecumseh), and Rachael Mills (Essex). Stiles vowed to protect the auto sector and fight for every single job in the face of Donald Trump’s tariff threats.

“From shop floors to Queen’s Park, New Democrats will always stand in solidarity with workers. When you needed a leader to stand up and fight for your jobs against Trump’s tariffs, Ford decided that the only job worth fighting for was his own.

When I’m Premier, I will fight for every single job at risk from these threats. Here’s my promise to you: New Democrats will protect workers from painful tariffs, and we will fight back against Trump’s threats, and we will take care of our people. As your next Premier, I will fiercely defend our auto sector and continue the progress that we made on electric vehicles.

Over the next few weeks, with the power of your vote, we can choose a better Ontario. Let’s make it happen.”

"After seven long years of Doug Ford and his neglect, life is harder than ever for people in Windsor,” added Gretzky. “Ford’s Conservatives take our community for granted. They have never truly respected workers. Trump’s tariffs will be devastating for Windsorites across the board. It’s about more than just one job or one industry, it is about the lifeblood of our city. The moment we’re currently in needs a Premier who is on your side, and I know that with Marit as our next Premier, we will fight to secure a better future for Windsor.”

Quotes:

"After three years of Conservative representation, Windsor – Tecumseh is ready for better. Doug Ford and his government ignored our community’s voices and backed down from an important fight: the fight to protect our jobs and livelihoods. It’s time for a government that’s on your side.” Gemma Grey-Hall. Ontario NDP candidate for Windsor – Tecumseh

“I know that Marit will be a Premier for everyone. With her leadership, we can bring our community’s voice to Queen’s Park and fight for the things that matter the most: protecting jobs, fighting for farmland, hiring doctors, and making life better for communities in Essex.” Rachael Mills. Ontario NDP candidate for Essex
